Abstrak
Penelitian ini membahas proses ekranisasi novel Jendela Seribu Sungai karya Miranda Seftiana dan Avesina Soebli ke dalam film garapan Jay Sukmo. Fokus penelitian adalah perbedaan dan persamaan antara novel dan film, khususnya mengenai teks sastra yang ditransformasi menjadi bentuk visual. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui elemen-elemen yang dipertahankan maupun dimodifikasi dalam adaptasi. Metode penelitian yang dipilih berupa kualitatif deskriptif melalui teknik baca, simak, dan catat. Data berupa kutipan novel serta tangkapan layar dan transkrip film, dianalisis secara komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penciutan sebanyak 116 data, penambahan 25 data, dan perubahan variasi 27 data, terutama pada tokoh, alur, serta latar. Penyesuaian ini dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan medium film. Adaptasi film berhasil mewakili inti cerita dengan menekankan budaya Banjar dan Dayak, nilai pendidikan, kesehatan, dan inklusivitas. Penelitian ini memberi gambaran mengenai kreativitas dalam adaptasi sekaligus kontribusi terhadap kajian sastra dan media.
Abstract
This study discusses the process of adapting the novel Jendela Seribu Sungai by Miranda Seftiana and Avesina Soebli into a film directed by Jay Sukmo. The focus of the study is the differences and similarities between the novel and the film, particularly how the literary text is transformed into a visual form. The aim is to identify the elements that are retained and modified in the adaptation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with reading, listening, and note-taking techniques. The data, in the form of novel excerpts, screenshots, and film transcripts, are analyzed comparatively. The results show that there are 116 instances of reduction, 25 instances of addition, and 27 instances of variation, mainly in the characters, plot, and setting. These adjustments were made to meet the needs of the film medium. The film adaptation successfully represented the essence of the story by emphasizing Banjar and Dayak culture, educational values, health, and inclusivity. This study provides an overview of creativity in adaptation as well as contributing to literary and media studies.
